Our simple tips to keep your INNER ISLAND piece looking its very best.

Cleaning

Using a soft, lint free cloth is an effective way to keep jewellery looking shiny and lustrous.

To clean your jewellery submerge in the soapy water. Let it soak for 15 minutes. Take the jewelry out of the soapy water. Use a soft toothbrush to gently scrub in the tight places on the jewellery. Hold the piece under lukewarm running water for a minute to rinse off the soapy water. Immediately dry using a soft lint free cloth.

Wearing

We recommend removing jewellery when you shower or bathe and particularly when on the beach, in the sea and in chlorinated water. Also please remove your rings before using soap or hand sanitisers.

Avoid spraying perfume or applying creams directly onto your jewellery.

Ideally, store silver pieces in an airtight bag to help reduce tarnishing.

The metals

Some of OUR jewellery is handcrafted in sterling silver with an option of a heavy 18Kt gold plate. This refers to a layer of gold applied over sterling silver. All our jewellery is heavily plateD in our studio. When your piece needs a little TLC we provide a Repolish & replating service. Our plating is guaranteed for 6 months. If looking for a fOrever piece We also make solid gold jewellery which is made to order in our studio in South Kilkenny.

Allergies

Approximately five to 10 percent of the population in industrialised areas have a nickel allergy. Also If you have sensitive skin, any alloy that involves nickel or brass may turn your skin a nasty green. You will be happy to know that all INNER ISLAND pieces are nickel and brass free.
