What is gold vermeil, and how is it different from gold plating?
Gold vermeil is a thick layer of gold [confirm microns] bonded to a sterling silver base — unlike standard gold plating, which uses a thinner gold layer over a base metal like brass. Vermeil is more durable, longer-lasting, and hypoallergenic because the core is solid sterling silver.
